Extremely rare video taken from his 1967 "Singer" show. Timeless...Enjoy. PS I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to see Herb and Lani play at Blues Alley in Georgetown Washington DC 12 May 2008. The show was absolutely spectacular. After all these years, they both still have it: the skills and the love. Truly a remarkable show. Herb and Lani, thanks to all of the wonderful years of warming our hearts with your great art work. You both are truly blessed as well as I was at your show.

@nightwind1409 “The music of today just isn’t in the same league.”
You might need to rethink that statement after checking out my band’s new video of Alpert’s song “Tijuana Taxi”. We up dated and improved the sound using modern equipment and techniques.

When it comes to music Herb Alpert was my first crush. The first time I ever saw him I thought that he was so gorgeous!!! Not to mention multi talented. A Taste of Honey was always my favorite Herb Alpert & TWB song. Artists have come & gone but Herb still remains my #1 MAN!!!!!

Chart-wise, Herb Alpert’s # 1 record, “This Guy’s In Love With You” from the late spring of 1968 and written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, was his biggest record.. Mr. Alpert did the vocal, played the trumpet on the instrumental break as the Tijuana Brass was not billed on the label.
Of course, most of us in the U. S first . heard “A Taste Of Honey” the year before by The Beatles.
Thanks and hope all’s well.

Hi Neptune,
Interesting Facts.
Hmm, perhaps you can help.
I think this is the Song I been looking for.
It was Definitely instrument, with Horns.
and bit slow not fast beat, but did pick-up tempo.
Which was the Most Popular Herbert Albert song around
late 1960.
Or any instrument around that time with Similar horns.
Thanks, much appreciate.

A FANTASTIC sound !!!!!!!! My Dad brought some of his music back from Vietnam, along with “The Sandpipers” to name just a couple. I bought a CD “Herb Alpert Definitive Hits”, A&M, (originally Herb’s own label) earlier this week and have been driving backwards and forwards to work with the stereo turned up trying recapture my youth and at the same time destroy what little is left of my hearing. The music of today just isn’t in the same league.

Don’t miss the great story about the girl on the iconic album cover and the day they shot the album cover photo. Wiki “Dolores Erickson”. Such a sexy photo and the funny thing is she was three-months prego at the time.

Does anyone know where to get this particular recording, with the strings near the end? The Whipped Cream album does not have it.
