    @cozmocon Just find a place with moss on it like a tree or rivers and just “scrap” them off and put it on the bonsai. I know it sounds too primitive but that is it. But look for bugs and small insects on the moss before putting it on the bonsai floor

    How can I bring a Bonsai back to life? I went away for a couple of days and when I returned all the leaves were dropping off. It was in a light place but not far from a heater so the soil was dry. I removed and socked in water for 10 mins. The trunk looks ok but it now has lost all its leaves. Any ideas on how I can bring this four year old tree back to its former glory?

    @cozmocon Hi you can get moss any were in a forest just make sure that you get moss that is exposed to a lot of light. That way it does not die on your pot. The other thing you can try is find your self some moss and let it dry. once it is dry you take and crush it with your hands (you will see that it will fall apart) now water your bonsai and spread the moss right were you want it. make sure you keep it in a shady area until moss appears. take care.

    @2high2aim
    Your tree will be stressed from the repotting/root pruning. Let it rest awhile and regain strength. Don’t wiggle,push,readjust,wire or anything untill it is growing and secure in the pot. Give it the proper light/weather/water for the species.
    Let it rest/regain strength, while you read and study Bonsai books and online articles to find out what is needed. IMO most new Bonsai are killed by too much kindness.

    it’s an inside tree, and i don’t know what it is, i’ve tried to look it up, it’s some sort of japanese tree though, that’s what i was told.

    Groundcovers & Vines Plants

    @NorseRonin Inside or outside?
    About mid spring/early summer you can remove all the leaves (decidous only) by cutting them off at the stem. Leave a little stem on the tree. The new leaves will be smaller, and more branching. Do this only on a healthy, thriving tree.
